What is the Law Enforcement Education Benefit?
Your Law Enforcement Education Benefit connects you and your family with a wide range of high-quality online degree programs and certificate options. To ensure this benefit includes high-quality educational opportunities and is sustainable, we have partnered with EDUTrust.
Who is EDUTrust?
EDUTrust is an organization dedicated to providing top-quality education programs to Law Enforcement members and their families at an affordable rate. The network is comprised of a carefully selected group of accredited colleges and universities that are committed to offering discounted tuition rates to Law Enforcement members. The network provides online degree programs that are designed to cater to the unique needs of busy adults and other nontraditional learners. These programs offer the necessary support and resources that students need to succeed in their academic and professional goals.
How do I learn which college is offering the academic program I am most interested in?
To receive a match to a participating institution, simply complete the Request Your Match form. Once you submit the form, you will receive an email shortly after containing information about your EDUTrust Match. Your EDUTrust Match has been determined as the best-fit option within the participating network colleges, based on the information you provided.
Once I am matched to a college or university, what are the requirements to be admitted into the school and/or my chosen program?
Admission to your matched institution and chosen program is not guaranteed solely based on union membership or family affiliation. After you are matched to a college or university, you will work with an admissions counselor at the school who will help you determine if you meet their specific admissions requirements.
What if I haven’t yet been contacted by the institution I am matched to?
At EDUTrust, we are committed to ensuring that prospective students receive the highest level of service possible. If you have not yet heard from an admissions counselor, please let us know so that we can assist you in any way we can.
Who will help me find the best program?
Once you have completed the Request Your Match form, an admissions counselor—who is employed by the college or university you have been matched to—will contact you. The admissions counselor will guide you through the admissions process, discuss your career goals and program options, and answer any questions you may have.
What will my college education cost if I use my Law Enforcement Education Benefit?
All prospective students will work directly with an admissions counselor and financial aid specialists, employed by the college, to determine their total out-of-pocket cost. Each participating college in the network has agreed to offer the same discounted tuition rate to Law Enforcement members and their families. Their team will work with you directly to review and determine which grants, financial aid, and scholarships you may be qualified to receive.
What types of programs are available through EDUTrust’s network?
EDUTrust’s network provides access to online degree programs and certificates offering discounted tuition rates to Law Enforcement members and their families. Degree programs include associate, bachelor’s, and master's programs. Certificate programs include undergraduate certificates, graduate certificates, and certificates of proficiency.
Completing the Request Your Match form allows you to be matched to a college or university admissions counselor focused on helping you achieve your academic and professional aspirations.
What should I do if my academic program of interest is not offered?
Don’t fret. Additional online programs and institutions are being added to the network monthly. Complete the “Don’t See Your Program?” request form and you will be updated when your program of interest is added to the network.
